The marina in Peniche is a nice marina in a good location. There is an old fortification surrounding it which is beautiful and worth a walk around. The marina itself is very clean and there is a small beach on the corner of the entrance which is nice to sit on and watch the boats coming in and out. The whole time we were there there wasn’t anyone else on it so it’s like having your own private beach!
The town itself has lots of bars and places to eat / drink. There is an Indian restaurant about 10 mins walk from the pontoons and we can’t recommend it enough! Best Indian we’ve ever had, a really good price and lovely waiters - well worth a visit if you are in Peniche.
The pontoons have water and electric. The visitors pontoon is a long T bone type pontoon which is where we stayed, but they also have finger pontoons too. Getting in is really easy as there is loads of space and it’s really well marked. There is an anchorage in the marina walls which you can stay in too (we didn’t as we needed to do some work on our boat). Major downside for us was there is no wifi but there is in most of the bars in the town that’s free to use.
Price was 34€ per night (for our 43ft) which isn’t too bad - bare in mind you need 20€ deposit for key card.
We were quite happy with our stay and would have probably stayed longer to explore but we needed to keep going and cover some more ground!
